Who invented the guillotine ?

This information will have you up to date on who invented the guillotine ?

It was back in the French Revolution that this instrument of execution called the guillotine came to be used extensively. A death penalty sentence in the period or history and in this geographical area meant that you were to have your head decapitated or cut off while being placed under a blade which when released by the executioner would swiftly fall from it's wooden rails and render the reapers favor.

The guillotine was an invention that came from an idea developed by Joseph Guillotin when he proposed a better and perhaps more humane way of carrying out the death penalty to the National Assembly of 1789.

The guillotine was invented a few years later in 1792 by a medical man named Antoine Louis.

Camille Desmoulins, a journalist who was fired by Joseph Guillotin while he worked at the National Assembly is rumoured to have avenged his loss by naming the executioners device the Guillotine.
